Carbs or no Carbs

Time for a New Song

The next time you hear that old song and dance number start up about good carbs versus bad carbs, change the station. The diet industry is so adept at creating misleading information that keeps us from getting thin while their bankrolls are busting with profits.

The body needs carbohydrates (vegetables are the only carbs, necessary) for energy and carbohydrate energy lasts longer and is better than energy derived from fats. There is nothing inherently good or bad in carbs despite all that you may have heard.  What makes carbs less than desirable are the foods, usually highly processed ones, which are added to the carbohydrate. Therefore it stands to reason that foods with natural carbs without any added processing junk is best for you.

But while the diet industry has lead you into long discussions about good versus bad carbs, the real solution to weight loss and better health is kept close to the vest. The truth is that if you eat more than your body can use and you do not exercise the excess food off, you will get fatter and fatter. The honest to goodness solution to lasting weight loss and better health is to eat foods that are nutrient rich foods. Learning more about the density of the nutrients in the foods you eat and choosing those with the highest density is what you should be focusing on.

Stop listening to the misleading rhetoric that the diet industry keeps putting out because they do not want you to achieve lasting weight loss and better health. Their million dollar salaries are at stake and they would not want to risk those with the truth. Change the station to nutrient dense foods for lasting weight loss and better health.

* Remember when I speak about carbs I'm speaking about vegetables and fruit not this processed refined sugars and flours and not even grains that much. Veggies need to be consumed a whole lot more, though meat is very important to the diet and body to function properly as well.

in great health and happiness
